Wiser: energy management User Interface
A range of household tools to optimize energy consumption of homes and their carbon footprint
In 2010, Schneider Electric launched a "home control" solution to manage and optimize energy consumption within households. The project combines the issues of product design and interaction design to create a total user experience: a smart grid.
For Attoma, the management interface plays a central role in education in power management, because presents in a tangible and simple manner all the information needed to understand one’s energy costs and move towards less energy intensive behavior. The management interface informs the user on three key aspects: comfort, economy and environmental impact.
Attoma’s mission ran from upstream interface definition (including functional analysis and information architecture) through to specifications for product development.
