Hypervisor Multitouch: touchscreen supervision User Interface
A breakthrough tactile interface typology
As part of a research project, Thales 3S asked Attoma to explore the potential of multi-point touch screens in the context of supervision. Through this study, proposed upstream from the process of product development, Attoma has enabled the emergence of Hypervisor Multitouch project, a novel type of touch interface.
The touchscreen provides intuitive and direct access to information and allows complex data manipulation, facilitating learning and increasing operator efficiency and therefore the supervision system more broadly. It also helps clear the work environment, a large number of devices (phone, keyboard, joystick) can be replaced by the touch interface. Finally, the touch interface can be repurposed on mobile devices, offering a cross platform consistency between in the control room and in field supervision solutions.
The materialization of this exploration is the production of a demonstrator consisting of two screens, one touch, the other non-touch, without a keyboard or mouse.
